PORTRAITS
Visual conversations with featureless faces - each of my paintings are distillations of joy fuelled memories. Each piece is the result of a response to a posture, an electric moment, or a conversation shared with my favourite human beings.
The paintings unfold through the use of layered pencil drawings and oil. Multiple recollections and conversations all emerge on the raw canvas inviting the viewer to take in a purely visual language, and to gain information of an appearance or an essence of a certain place.

LES FILLES
Oil, chalk pastel and pencil on raw canvas
55 x 41 cm
The still faceless faces engage the viewer to look, to gaze deeper and to immerse themselves into the story behind the portrait, and the most mysterious thing of capturing an appearance.
LE PETIT CREUX
Oil, chalk pastel and pencil on raw canvas
35 x 25 cm
A background, an object, a stance can allude to a specific place, atmosphere and delve into a mood or time. Some of the portraits are instantly recognisable and in others the identification and recognition is more ambiguous, on purpose maybe, known only to myself.
MY MIRRORED TWIN
Oil, acrylic and chalk pastel on raw canvas
70 x 48 cm
My choice of colour allows the emotional intensity of the paintings to transform the essence of a pose, and the use of day-glo paint injects a certain wild element, highlighting feelings felt.
SUNFILLIDA

PANACHÉ

FIGURATIVE
Who are these figures, these bodies, what are they doing? There is an intensity about them, resting in their still world - perhaps waiting for tomorrow.
SHOW ME TOMORROW is a collection of mixed media figurative paintings, simple and absolutely true to the time. Paintings to feel the soul without explaining it, they each represent that honest, emotional and sensuous form - looking through myself, looking for tomorrow.
